So I have been knitting incessantly with Malabrigo lately, but I surely have not forgotten about my 1st love NORO! ;o)

Earlier last month I did a very smooth & happy Canadian yarn trade on Ravelry for some more Noro Shinano

After doing my gloves and scholar collar I just couldn't get enough of it!! And not really sure what I will do with these 4 balls but just had to have some more!

This Shinano is in Color #9 with browns, greys and blacks in it, which is reminiscent of the colorway that I first worked in NORO that made me fall in love with it in Big Kureyon #20

It also has some blends of ink blue in it too. This yarn is 65% Wool and 35% Silk = soft. A lot of folks think Noro is rough. This yarn would prove them wrong!

So something yummy for next fall/winter will be produced out of it! ;o)

I finally fulfilled my urge (as everyone else's frenzy) and got some Noro Kureyon sock yarnCourtesy of my E.E. Scarf Swap Pal, Urban Knitrix who gave me a generous gift certificate! Thanks again! I also dropped in my e-cart a NORO pattern book that I have been lusting after as well! More coming down the pipeline about that too!

This colorway is #S188 and of course I picked it because of the beautiful purples!

Very much like Malabrigo, each skein of this particular sock yarn despite the same colorway # could be completely different from the other one!

Also, similar to the regular Kureyon it is 70% wool, but has 30% nylon for elasticity. It is very thin and not all that soft!! Mmmhh I won't be knitting up these socks until cold season as well, and when I have some more sock knitting under my belt with a heavier weight! ;op

My last, but my most favorite NORO showcase is Aurora!! I have been eyeing this yarn for awhile now and could never figure out what I could make out of it. Yes! I am one of those knitters that can't buy yarn unless I know what I am going to do with it! I just can't buy yarn all haphazardly like that! Haha! ;op

My fav LYS was having a 20% off sale on all Noro soooooooooo you know I had to get "something" ;op Haha!

And when I saw this yarn knitted up in a lace shawl, it became a no brainer for me!! :oD I plucked 3 balls immediately!

This yarn is a bit on the spunky side with glitter in it! I love the sparkle!!

It has 55% wool 20% Kid Mohair 20% Silk and 5% Polyester (that lovely twinkle!)This is in colorway #1 which has browns, creams, greys, deep pinks, and blacks in it. The extra ball I had to get separately to make the shawl as long as I wanted it even had hints of green in it! Whoa!

That Noro sure will surprise you!! This is such an impulse knit and I can't stop working on it!! :o)

It looks like I took over last month with Noro, well you do know this is Malabrigo March!! ;op

Yarn Porn! Woo Hoo! You should get a commission for advertising! You do such a great job of selling it to other needlecrafters! One day I will get some when I decrease my stash substantially! LMAO! I don't know how soon that will be!

Curse you! I've had no interest in the Noro Sock Yarn before now, but that colorway is GORGEOUS.

As is the rest of it - you find the best Noro!

I love me some Noro, so I understand. Some Ravelers were talking about the sock yarn & said it softens after washing. That's definitely on my to-buy list!

Noro is a great surprise. I actually washed it in the machine, (cold water, delicate and dry flat) and it turn out really nice! I'm anxious to see how the sock weight goes!

I just got my first two balls last weekend. The anticipations of discovering how my little project will turn out is killing me. So much so that I got up at 5:30 a.m. to cast on before going to work.

Noro does have lots of nice yarns! My coworker who I taught sock-knitting to gifted me her skein of Noro sock yarn. she hated it. I haven't done anything with it yet so we'll see. It IS kinda rough.

That last picture: the Noro looks like it's making a face at you!
