Some of you may not even realize what has been going on over here in the southeast corner of the U.S. since I.ke hit about two weeks ago.

People went into a frenzy here about getting gas and how our supply would be effected by this hurricane...weeeeeell it sure was by US!!!

TWO weeks ago we have had our gas almost close to being rationed out to us and lots of price gouging at the pump!!

And I maintain that our local community (for the most part) caused this large imbalance of supply and demand. Did it to ourselves!! Shish.....

The pic above was the line I waited in on Saturday to get gas...not bad at all considering what I have seen all across town! Only waited a smooth 15-20 minutes for it, and that was short!!

This is the service woman directing traffic

(excuse all photos taken on my cheap camera phone ;op)

Yes folks have even been getting indignant in some cases over getting gas, hence the blue suits coming out to regulate at the pump lines!

And others have been severely impacted by this self-imposed gas shortage by not being able to get to work, and having a terrible domino affect on them maintaining their livelihood.

Folks were even being pushed into the gas station b/c they ran out while waiting!!
Thank goodness I have had the foresight and resources not to wait that long.

Someone asked me a few blog posts ago about the gas situation here and how much we were paying since they have been hearing about it on national newsThat is pretty good here, as anywhere at any moment you could be paying as much as $4.19 for the lowest grade. And the higher octane for the luxury cars are the most priceless commodity.

I hear that Atlanta and Nashville are having the same gas issues too.

For those who are interested in seeing more Click Here to see a video that someone did to show what the hunt for gas is like here!

But I am not & have not worried about it, as I truly know GOD has everything under control!

Wow! Gas prices are usually a lot less nationwide than my area, so that's really some price gouging.
Went to Costco today (SF Bay Area, CA) and prices were $3.61 regular /$3.85 super. Costco gas has the best prices, it's generally 15 to 20 cents more at regular gas stations in the area.

If that's gas price gouging I will move there! Gas here at a good price is $3.95 a gallon for regular! It has been over $4.10 most of the time.

Now you've got me a little worried. I need to get gas and I haven't left the house since Friday. Who knows what the prices are like around here now.

We were in Atlanta over the weekend, and OMG, it's just as bad or worse there! I'm glad we decided to ride Marta everywhere instead of driving, we probably wouldn't have found any gas to head home!!! And it was consistently posted as $4.20 or more at the stations that had prices (for non-existent gas!) posted. It even took us a few stops in SC before we could find a station that had some gas!

Holy cow! that is crazy! Myst be frustrating! Here prices are starting to come down a little..I paid $3.58 today to fill up! We've been up near $4 till recently! Actually the station where I got gas today was charging $3.79 when I went by on my way to work, then it was down to $3.58 on my way home! Glad I waited!

That's horrible! I hope the situation improves soon!

Are you able to work from home to save gas?

Today in Va. I paid 3.45, I am not sure why it was lower today. 15 minutes waiting for gas is ridiculous.

Sorry for the troubles! God is in control always! Only He knows why gas is less here is Southern California now... Thank goodness I longer drive!

I'm in San Diego and it's as high as 4.16 for regular and as low as 3.41. Still - we don't have to stand in line to be ripped off. Hang in there!

This makes me so mad. We haven't had that problem (but all it'd take is a hurricane), but I hate the greed that always comes up during times of distress. I wonder how people can sleep at night knowing they've gouged innocent consumers.

LOL I waited and waited thinking I'd be alright, and finally had to get in a line - but only once. And you're right, we did do it to ourselves; everyone getting it every chance they saw it. At least now things are a bit more normal!
